Meet Dr. Elizabeth Hidlebaugh
Dr. Elizabeth Hidlebaugh joined AMDG Naples 100 in 2021 after completing a geriatrics fellowship at Duke University. Her passion for geriatrics blossomed in college when she co-authored her first paper in The Journal of Gerontology & Geriatric Research. After medical school she completed her internal medicine residency at Florida Atlantic University, where solidified her geriatrics focus as a major contributor to a geriatrics screening book chapter in Primary Care: Clinics in Office Practice- Prevention and Screening. Dr. Hidlebaugh has served on multiple committees in the American Geriatrics Society and contributed to national geriatric board review preparation materials. Her efforts towards quality improvement led to improvements in her primary care clinic related to polypharmacy in older adults.
Dr. Hidlebaugh was the recipient of the prestigious Golden Stethoscope Award, Outstanding Clinic Resident, Health Fair Outreach award and the American College of Physicians Florida Chapter Outstanding Florida Atlantic University Resident award. During her fellowship in Geriatrics at Duke University School of Medicine, she presented research projects at the American Geriatrics Society and the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care national meetings.
Dr. Hidlebaugh continues to be a champion for prevention & screening efforts in older adults, the reduction of polypharmacy & adverse effects of medications, fall prevention, establishing clear health goals & preferences for seniors. Her practice focuses on functional survival and the preservation of quality of life in her older adult patients.
Her Certifications (“Boards”) include Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. Dr. Hidlebaugh serves as an attending physician at the NCH and Physician Regional hospital systems in Collier County, where she follows her patients when hospitalized. In addition to her national medical society memberships, she is a lifetime member of the Florida Geriatrics Society and the Florida Medical Directors Association.
